We strive to create an atmosphere at Camp Classen YMCA where every person says, "This is MY CAMP." Every week at camp people tell us how meaningful camp has been to them. Here are a few of those comments.

"This is my camp because we have friends here and when I'm old enough I want to work here. Everything about this camp is special and great. That is why forever and ever this will be the one and only camp for me"

"My brothers and I went to Camp Classen at least 3 times ( between '75 and '80) when we were kids and lived just outside of Edmond. My girls went this past summer to the first session and loved it so much they still speak fondly of it today. They remember the counselors and the songs. When they are big enough they will go for two weeks and hopefully both will become counselors in training. It truly has been a life defining experience for them. Thank you so much!"

Camp Classen is my camp because my very first time ever at summer camp I was fourteen. Luckily I had the amazing opportunity to spend it at Camp Classen. My only regret is not coming to Camp Classen sooner! Thank you for making my first summer at camp the most exciting and memorable one. See you next summer!

"Camp Classen is my camp because I have been attending it for 5 years, 6 in June. I have countless memories, enough for more than a lifetime. I have made very many friendships, strong one at that. These people are my family, I talk to them throughout the year and then I get to see them for only two weeks at camp. I consider my self very lucky to have the opportunity to attend such a great camp. The things I do here inspire me at school where I am leaarning to become a playwright. I would recommend this camp to any person in a heartbeat and I cannot wait until I am old enough to beccome a counselor so I can tell my campers 'One time when I was a camper here...' I love this camp with my heart and soul."

The first year I went to Camp Classen YMCA I loved it. It was the perfect camp. Everything about it made me want to stay there. So once the next summer came I went again and then one more time. And I’m pretty positive I’m coming back for two weeks this year. Camp Classen is the perfect camp for me and I will never forget the time I spent there.

Camp Classen is my camp because it is the place where I truly discovered who I am. It is my home away from home. Whenever I feel bad, Camp is always looming on the horizon, waiting to cheer me up. This will be my 7th summer at Classen and I know it will be the best ever. Thanks for making a place where everyone can feel welcome!

Camp Classen is my camp because it is where I can grow as a person. Throughout the many activities I was, and still am able to find who I am and how I can change [for the better] as a person. Camp Classen really brings out the best in people. A lot of kids are afraid of getting homesick when they travel away from their other friends and family. They don’t realize Camp Classen holds new friends and a kind of “foster” family that will always be there for you. I have become a better person at camp, and continue to each year. I hope that this summer, which will be my fourth summer, will hold more wonderful surprises, friends, and journeys.      About to take my first 89er trip,

Last year was my first year to go to camp and I was a little homesick. When I got there though everything about it cheered me up! It was so much fun and this year I am going back for 2 weeks!

I went to Camp Classen from 1975-1978, I did not go for one or two weeks, I went all summer. It was not just my camp but my home, the staff and friends, I was so lucky to see every summer was my family. I am so thankful for every summer I had there, it is a big part of who I am today. When people ask me if I could go back in time what would I do? I simply respond Camp Classen.-Desiree Young

What incredible memories of my youth and Camp Classen.  I attended in 60,61, and 62.  As I approach my 60th birthday and begin to think so fondly of summertime activities I always go back to those three great summers at the most beautiful spot imaginable in the Arbuckle Mountains of Southern Oklahoma.  I'm so pleased that the Camp has endured and is even more diversified.   If there was a way to go back, it would be wonderful to spend another summer at Camp Classen.   Thanks for the great memories,
