"I LOVE THIS PLACE. I CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK AGAIN NEXT YEAR !" -2007 Camper SUMMER CAMP AT CAMP CLASSEN Camp Classen opened in 1941 as a branch of the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City. For 67 years Classen has provided the finest in camping services to campers ages 8-17. We have the ideal setting for a camp in the Arbuckle Mountains of southern Oklahoma that's very easy to locate. It's a place where anyone can experience safe, dynamic and positive relationships and grow as a child of God. Campers are housed in the air-conditioned stone cabins of the newly renovated MAIN CAMP. They eat their meals in the comfort of an air conditioned dining hall. 89'ER VILLAGE is the program for 13-15 year old campers. It is designed so teens can explore their love of horses on the historic COLLINGS 101 RANCH or experience one of several off-camp adventure trips or have the time of their lives while making lasting friendships at traditional camp in a wonderful and unique setting. We also train 16 and 17 year olds for the future in our LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM. Our staff hiring and training process is very extensive and thorough. Parent can feel confident that they are entrusting their children to a very mature and caring staff. We hear comments all year from people who tell us how meaningful their camp experience has been to them. Here's one of them: "MY SON DOES NOT HAVE A BIG BROTHER, BUT IF HE DID I WOULD WANT HIM TO BE JUST LIKE HIS COUNSELOR." -2007 PARENT |
